Two New Profiles

I have created two new profiles for the D300 & D700 using the Adobe Standard profile as a base. If you don't like the Camera Standard (Nikon NX) look with it's odd Blues and also don't like the Adobe Standard profile with excess Cyan and exposure then this may be the perfect compromise !

You can download them here Nik_Adobe.zip

Copy the files into the following folder and restart Lightroom / ACR

On Mac OS X
user/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles

On Windows 2000 / XP
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles

On Windows Vista and 7
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles

  1. What can I say. Coming from Fuji to Nikon was harsh, with colors completely mismatched in Lightroom. Even when I only hexedited your D300 profile to load up with D90 (not 100% accurate, I know) - you saved my day.

  2. The D90 & D300 share the same sensor so it will be pretty close. The profiles aren't perfect but glad they help !

  3. Hi Nik,

  4. These profiles are for Lightroom / ACR only. You can create Picture Controls with Capture NX and save them to your camera. You may even be able to do it with ViewNX (free) but I'm not too sure.

  5. Anybody knows how to create a similar Picture Control file which is color corrected like these profiles? Sometimes i just need straight jpegs out of camera...

  6. Try these http://web.me.com/player.nz/blog/Pic-Control.zip

Quick HUE shift in these Nikon Picture Controls. Not sure how well they would match up.
